Accessibility
Skegness Aquarium is incredibly proud to be an accessible attraction, with ramp access and wide, easy-to-navigate spaces.
In addition, all of our staff are happy to help with anything that can help make your visit more comfortable.
Visiting with young children
Skegness Aquarium is geared up to welcome visitors of all ages. We have baby change facilities available, and there is easy access for pushchairs throughout, as well as a lift to the cafe and soft play on the upper floor.
Mobility scooters and wheelchairs
We’re wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, and also allow the entry of registered guide dogs. Please note that the paths within Jurassic Falls are historic and are not overly wide, so this may result in some difficulty when manoeuvring through this area.
Disabled facilities
We have a disabled toilet, and a lift to transport anyone who is mobility impaired upstairs to our Bistro and Soft Play. The Aquarium is fitted with ramps throughout and all internal spaces are easy to navigate.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome at Skegness Aquarium. We remain fully committed to the Equality Act 2010, and our policy is consistent with industry practice across the UK, including affiliated aquariums and zoos, and produced in line with guidance from the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
In line with the Equality Act 2010 we recognise:
A dog trained to guide a blind person
A dog trained to assist a deaf person
A dog trained by a prescribed charity to assist a person with a disability affecting mobility, manual dexterity, physical coordination, or the ability to lift, carry or move everyday objects — including epilepsy
A dog of a prescribed category trained to assist a person with a disability of a prescribed kind
With regret, we do not permit emotional support animals or therapy dogs on site, to protect our animals' welfare and the safety and hygiene of our visitors.
What we ask
Proof of vaccination and inoculation status on arrival — we reserve the right to refuse entry to any assistance dog that cannot show this
That the assistance dog is kept under the close control of a responsible handler at all times
That a dog which starts barking or growling is moved to an area away from other animals until it settles
That any dog obviously causing distress to our animals, or distressed by them, is removed
That all faeces are cleaned up and disposed of immediately — please note we have no facilities for this, and Jurassic Falls is shared with other visitors so is not an appropriate place for a dog to relieve itself
Assistance dogs are not permitted in areas with an increased risk of cross-contamination, such as the dive area
Please contact us before your visit so we can help you plan.
Assistance dog waiver form
Handlers sign a short waiver on arrival. It confirms that you have read and understood the assistance dogs policy, that you are the responsible handler and accept responsibility for any damage, that the dog will be under your control throughout the visit, that it is enrolled on a standard canine vaccination programme with proof available along with evidence of flea, worm and parasite treatment, that it has shown no signs of disease including vomiting or diarrhoea in the previous day, and that you understand the potential risk of exposing the dog to zoonotic diseases.
